Halloween is a time for celebration. It is at that point in the year where the nights are drawing in and it is becoming colder. This festival marks the coming of winter. It can be expensive to dress up, so why not make some cheap Halloween costumes.
The first costume that anyone thinks of is the ghost. Everyone should be a ghost at least once in their lifetime. It is the ideal way to recycle an old sheet and takes next to no time to make. You just need the sheet, a marker pen, scissors, and some safety pins.
Your ghost to be should have some white shoes, gloves and white clothes to go underneath their sheet. Lay the sheet over their head and make sure that it is straight. Mark the hem level, making sure that it is well clear of the ground because ghosts do not trip over. They glide.
Be very careful when you mark the position of their eyes, then mark the position of their arms. Ghosts need to do a lot of arm waving. You can now take off the sheet and cut in the hem, arms and eye holes. Cut the eye holes on the large side. Do not worry about any skin showing as you can use a bit of black make up to conceal any exposed skin.
Use safety pins to hold it all together. Get them dressed in their white clothes, shoes and gloves and position the sheet. This is incredibly quick and very very cheap.
There are lots of great costumes that can easily be made with a very small amount of effort. Start off with an easy one, then let your imagination run riot. Your kids will soon be the scariest on the block. Cheap Halloween costumes can be fun for the whole family to make.
